NTSB Warns Drake Fans Against ‘In My Feelings’ Challenge

You may have seen a challenge going viral on social media these days that involves people stepping out of moving cars and dancing on the road to Drake’s new song, “In My Feelings.” As you can probably imagine, it’s not only dangerous for the person doing that but also for the driver and other road users. The viral trend shows no sign of slowing down and the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board is now having to warn the rapper’s fans against taking part in this challenge.

It’s not just that stepping out of a moving vehicle to dance on the road is dangerous but then having someone behind the wheel record it while the car is moving breaks distracted driving laws.

NTSB safety advocate chief Nicholas Worrell writes that “Driver distraction features prominently in this viral challenge, but the more obvious risk is the poor decision to hop out of a moving vehicle to dance.”

There are already countless “fail” videos online of this challenge going wrong. People step out of the moving car only to lose their balance and fall on the road. It goes without saying that doing this challenge while jumping out of moving cars in traffic can lead to worse accidents.

Hopefully, Drake’s fans will see that not putting their lives and the lives of other road users in danger is better than participating in a viral challenge.
