Harley-Davidson’s Electric Motorcycle Will Debut In 2019

For the most part when you think about powerful vehicles like supercars and superbikes, you wouldn’t necessarily consider them to be fuel efficient. After all the focus on these vehicles would be their raw power, which would no doubt take a lot of fuel to power to begin with. However over the years we’ve started seeing some of these companies create more “green” alternatives.

In fact bike maker Harley-Davidson has expressed their interest in creating electric motorcycles, which we now know is expected to make its debut in 2019. The company’s bikes have been known to be gas guzzlers but come 2019, it will mark the company’s push into creating electric motorcycles, which Harley-Davidson admits will raise some eyebrows, but they reckon that it will be a positive thing. Harley-Davidson announced their plans to get into electric bikes back in 2014 with Project Livewire, so if anything this was a long time coming.

According to Matt Levatich, president and chief executive officer, Harley-Davidson, “The bold actions we are announcing today leverage Harley-Davidson’s vast capabilities and competitive firepower – our excellence in product development and manufacturing, the global appeal of the brand and of course, our great dealer network. Alongside our existing loyal riders, we will lead the next revolution of two-wheeled freedom to inspire future riders who have yet to even think about the thrill of riding.”
