Nokia Flagship With Snapdragon 845 Being Developed

HMD Global has launched quite a few handsets so far this year but it may not be done yet. A new report claims that the company has a flagship smartphone in the pipeline which will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, the chip that you find in other flagships like the Galaxy S9. The device is also believed to feature a display-based fingerprint sensor like the one found on the Vivo Nex.

HMD is said to have started working on this device codenamed A1 Plus with its manufacturing partner Foxconn. The other codenames for this device suggest that it will be made available in the European market as well.

The handset is said to feature a display-based fingerprint sensor. This will enable the company to get rid of the home button and thus opt for a larger display with a higher screen-to-body ratio. Chinese manufacturers like Vivo have already demonstrated that the technology works and is good enough to put in consumer devices so it’s only a matter of time before other OEMs like HMD Global follow suit.

The company may be working on significant camera improvements for this device as well but not much is known about its other specs at this point in time. HMD Global is expected to introduce this device in the second half of this year.
