Ever since compact cameras were invented, it created a new privacy problem in which some people chose to take advantage of its compactness to take upskirt photos of women. Given that cameras these days are even smaller than ever and attached to our mobile phones, this doesn’t seem like a problem that will be going away anytime soon.
However in the case of a 32-year old man from Wisconsin, he might have a change of heart regarding upskirt photos and videos after a camera he had attached to his shoe blew up on him. Thankfully this happened before he managed to get any actual footage because according to the reports, he was testing out the camera at home when the battery exploded.
He had to be taken to the hospital for his burns and for some reason, maybe it was his guilty conscience, he decided to confess his actions to his clergyman who then recommended that he turn himself into the police, which he did. He went to the West Police District station where he was counseled about his actions, but given that no actual footage was recorded, he was released, although there is an ongoing investigation but it is unclear as to what will become of that.
The action of upskirting is considered a felony under Wisconsin state law, where those who are found guilty can face up to 3.5 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
