Facebook rolled out a job application feature in the United States and Canada last year. It enables users to search and apply for jobs at local businesses. The company has now decided to roll out this feature in additional markets, confirming that the job application feature will soon be available in 40 countries across the globe.
Facebook mentions that an online poll of 5,000 adults revealed that one in four people in the United States said that they searched for and found a job using Facebook. Since introducing this feature the U.S. and Canada last year, the company has added new features for businesses and they can now create job posts on mobile, manage applications, and schedule interviews right on Facebook.
Job-seekers can now set up job alerts for the roles that they’re interested in. They can explore the Jobs dashboard at facebook.com/jobs and in the “Jobs” option in the “Explore” section on mobile apps.
When they’re ready to apply, users can create an application which will automatically populate with job history and other information available on their Facebook profile. They can then edit their application before submitting it. Once an application has been made, a Messenger conversation will open with the business’ Page so that they can have direct contact with the employer.
This functionality can now be used by job-seekers and businesses alike in more than 40 countries across the globe.
