iPhone Battery Replacement Wait Times Are Increasing

As some iPhone 6 Plus customers found out, the wait times for their battery replacements is pretty long as it has been reported that iPhone 6 Plus owners might need to wait until April before they can get their batteries replaced. However it seems that iPhone 6 Plus owners aren’t the only ones affected.

According to Business Insider, they cite reports from Barclays analyst Mark Moskowitz who claims that based on stock checks, battery replacement wait times in general are increasing. Previously the wait was around 2.3 weeks, but that has since increased to 2.7 weeks, suggesting an uptick in demand for battery replacements. Either that or battery supply isn’t improving, despite what Apple had previously promised in which they stated that they are doing everything they can.

However despite the slightly longer wait, Moskowitz believes that many customers will continue to take advantage of the $29 battery replacement program instead of upgrading to a newer device. Previously Moskowitz had reported that a shorter wait time could impact iPhone upgrades, where if customers did not have to wait too long, they were less likely to upgrade to a brand new model.

Apple had also previously stated that they did not take into consideration how battery replacements could affect upgrades, stating that they simply wanted to do the right thing. As it stands Apple is facing over 60 class action lawsuits and presumably the longer waiting times are probably not doing the company any favors.
