Support For Apple’s CarPlay Will Come To The 2018 Mazda6

If you’re looking for more cars with support for Apple’s CarPlay, you’ll be pleased to learn that Mazda has announced that AirPlay support will be coming to 2018 Mazda6. This is following the company’s announcement earlier this month in which they promised CarPlay support would be coming to upcoming models.

According to Mazda, it will be available for the Touring, Grand Touring, Grand Touring Reserve and Signature trim levels, which means that the Sport is the only trim that will not feature it. That being said if you’re not planning on buying a new car anytime soon, not to worry as there are several aftermarket solutions that you can go for.

Granted it won’t quite be as integrated compared to if the car came with it, but ultimately it is cheaper than buying a brand new car just for CarPlay or Android Auto. That being said, Mazda did not provide any details regarding the upgrade or retrofitting costs, but as AppleInsider points out, chances are it will most likely be in line with what other carmakers are offering their customers. In addition to the 2018 Mazda6, Mazda also announced that CarPlay will be arriving for the 2019 CX9 in Canada this coming summer, so do keep an eye out for that if you’re interested.
